This week’s Walt Disney World Word of the Week is all about one of Disney’s best thrill rides, Expedition Everest. Are your children tall enough to ride? What can you expect on this attraction? Do you really come face to face with the Yeti? All of these questions and more will be answered on this episode of the Word of the Week – Everest.

When Disney’s Animal Kingdom first opened in 1998, the closest thing it had to a true thrill ride was Countdown to Extinction (later renamed Dinosaur). In 2006, Expedition Everest: Legend of the Forbidden Mountain took Walt Disney World by storm. On this episode of the Word of the Week, I’ll tell you all about the attraction’s history, a few secrets, and more!

If you’re like me, you’ve probably thought about what it would be like to never have to leave Walt Disney World. While it would be fun to live in one of the resorts, this week I took my craziness a bit further, and started thinking: Which attractions would make the best homes? That’s what this week’s show is all about, Episode 31: Best WDW Attractions to Live In.

Sure, some obvious attractions spring to mind right away, and my guest Chris Yansick and I get discussions about those in, but then things get a little bit more interesting! Who wouldn’t want to live in the middle of a safari or up on a high floor in a haunted Hollywood hotel?!

Check out more from Chris Yansick in the following episodes:

Episode 2: Best Restaurants in the WDW Resort Hotels

Episode 5: Why We Run Disney

One of the questions I get asked the most is “Are the Disney Dining Plans worth it?” The problem is, I can’t answer that with a simple Yes or No. This week I’m going to talk you through the ins and outs of dining in Walt Disney World with the Word(s) of the Week – Dining Plan.

Disney Dining Plan, Meal Plan, Walt Disney World, Dining, Restaurants, DDP

Look for this Logo all over WDW!

Okay, so admittedly I’m already cheating here with giving you two words for this week’s letter! The reason is, I think it’s extremely important to have an understanding of exactly what the Dining Plans are, what they cost, and how they compare to buying food out of pocket on your Walt Disney World vacation. That is exactly what I explain in this episode of the Walt Disney World Word of the Week.

As I say all the time on this podcast, I’m in the business of saving you money on your Walt Disney World trip. I want you to have the best vacation possible while spending the least amount of money possible. However, there are some pretty fantastic “once-in-a-while” or even “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences that you should think about taking part in while on your Walt Disney World vacation. Check out these Top Splurges in Walt Disney World.

From having a meal with a Real Life Imagineer to a once in a lifetime stay in the Bungalows at The Polynesian Resort, these aren’t things you’ll do on every single trip to Walt Disney World. They are, however, splurges that you and your family will never forget.

Thank you to my friend Johnny Shortsleeve for once again joining me and doing an amazing job with his picks for this episode! If you’d like to check out more of what he has to say, head over to johnnyshortsleeve.com. And if you see him in his trademark High Five T Shirt, white hat, and shades, make sure to say hello!

Have you ever heard of a man named Cornelius Vanderbilt Wood? No? I hadn’t either. Then I did a little bit of research and found out some crazy things about this man and the history of the Walt Disney Company, especially when it comes to the history of Disneyland. I sincerely hope you enjoy this week’s Word of the Week – Cornelius.

Cornelius Vanderbilt Wood (or C.V. Wood, or Woody) was instrumental in the construction of the world’s first theme park, Disneyland. So why haven’t you heard of him? I’ll explain all of that and more in this week’s Word of the Week podcast.

Walt Disney World is constantly changing and evolving. With every attraction or restaurant that is taken away, a new one is added. But Disney never asks us, the Disney fans, what we would like to build in the theme parks and resorts. That’s why this week, my guest Chuck Rodriguez and I give our Imaginary Imagineering opinions on what we would like to see build in Walt Disney World. I hope you enjoy Episode 29: Imaginary Imagineering.

If you liked the cut of Chuck’s jib, he can also be heard on the following episodes of the podcast:

Episode 7: Best Disney Movies You’ve Never Seen

Episode 9: Best Smells in Walt Disney World

Episode 12: Best On-Ride Moments in the Disney Parks

Episode 17:Best WDW Attraction Music

Episode 22: Best Walt Disney World Attraction Quotes

Episode 26: Best Ways to Beat the Heat in WDW
